March was supposed to be a month spent exploring coding, but with many of our lease iPads due for return, much time was spent cloning, deleting and amending student and teacher tablets. Internet issues beyond the schools control compounded the problem but eventually lower school was complete.
With the IB Art show came an opportunity to recap with students the use of the camera and how they can view and edit them in the Photo roll. This photo shows two first grade students, wearing crazy hats for the day, practicing taking landscape and portrait pictures. They hadn't explored applying filters or cropping pictures before - and this lead into a discussion about the different apps that used the camera - Morfo Booth, Puppet Pals, Explain Everything, Book Creator etc. One student observed that it different apps needed pictures taken either in portrait or landscape - whilst Puppet Pals needed both, portrait for the actors and landscape for the backgrounds. Walking around the room and looking at all the pictures the students had taken, I think we may have to discuss 'trashing' pictures that aren't being used!
